Stormy weather takes the temperature down. 39/66

21mm of rain fell between yesterdays sojourn to the beach and todays. For this time of the year that is probably a little unusual.

20 minutes exercise.

It was a cool 12C on the beach and the wind was blowing fairly strongly so I was glad that I had put my raincoat and beany on this morning. My feet and legs are quite happy to be in the ocean but if my ears get cold then I am cold!!

The Giant and I had a bit of a plan this morning that included a large glass jar and the go pro camera.. So as we made our way across the rock ledge we were surprised to find three Octopi in residence today.

‘Maybe we have been walking past them all the time”  the Giant mused!

I got out my camera to take a shot of one that was up on top of the rock spread out lazily waving its tentacles in the air. As I approached it slithered back into the water and out of sight under a ledge.

Soon it was out of sight and I was distracted for a moment.

‘Watch out its coming at you from behind’  said the Giant.   Sure enough I look round to see it has come up behind me and is now coming toward me from behind… Time to move quickly I think!!

The Giant went about his mission of catching a big crab in the glass jar ready to feed to the octopus of choice on the way back to the car.

The tide was so far out we walked until we could see the next beach and were only stopped by a channel in the rock shelf that looked to be about 10 feet deep… Now the Giant is a scuba diver so he would be fine, I however are not that confident in water and especially not is fast moving tidal sea surges!!

Once again our aim to get to back beach was thwarted by the sea. The crab in the jar was unceremoniously dropped into the range of the octopus who with lightning fast speed crushed it as it pulled it into its lair.  Spectacular to watch…

20 Minutes learning.

More music at my fingertips today as I get back on track with my guitar. Love the sound it makes when I get it right.

20 Minutes reading

As today is Sunday and I will spend most of it working I am thinking that I need to be reading something edifying so a big stack of things have been perused.

Time to get Jolly only 4 days to go ho ho ho!!! love and light Ali xxx
